I’m Dirk, your resistance stretch practitioner. My approach is rooted in the Bob Cooley system and is informed by almost five decades of martial arts training, along with a long-standing practice of subtle body awareness and perception. I work with the body as an intelligent system, tracking tension, movement, and compensatory patterns and adjusting the work moment by moment based on what the body communicates.
When I developed persistent knee pain and was told that this was simply what happens after forty, I wasn’t willing to accept that as the final answer. My experience had already shown me that the body is capable of change when the right conditions are present. Discovering resistance stretching confirmed that instinct and provided a way to support real, lasting shifts without forcing the body or working against it.
What continues to draw me to this work is its ability to create meaningful physical change while also reaching layers that are often held beneath the surface - including emotional, psychological, and energetic layers - through direct physical engagement. My approach is grounded and practical, focused on helping people reconnect with parts of their body that have gone offline and supporting the gradual return of movement, sensation, and resilience.
